Our laboratory is equipped with Raman micro-spectroscopy systems that provide excitation wavelengths at both 633nm and 785nm, which are mainly applied to the qualification of materials and the detection of red fluorescence.
The systems are suitable for bio-optical inspections due to high specificity, short analysis time and non-invasive to the samples. We developed a patented urine crystal analysis system, which combined rapid crystals extraction technique using magnetic nano-clusters with Raman micro-spectroscopy, to analyze the compositions of crystals in the urine of urolithiasis patients. Knowing the composition of urine crystals is very important to the prevention and managements on urolithiasis. Compared to the current methods in clinics, this technology provides a faster, more accurate and lower cost urine crystal analysis tool that can reduce the risk and the clinic costs of urolithiasis. |
